NOTES:
Note 1
Other income is commission the TCB earned from Buyers United on telephone services.
Note 2
This “refund” from NBCB and “reimbursement” actually were loans from John Gilbert. John converted those loans into a donation when he resigned as Executive Director of the TCB. John also donated his accrued contracted services salary in the amount of $ 1,928.00 to the defunct Tarot Certification Board. He stated he did that in order to clear the books of any remaining liabilities prior to the transfer of assets to TCBA.
Note 3
Contract Services for 1999 through 2nd quarter 2000 were to Wald Amberstone as Executive Director.
Note 4
Contract services for the remainder of 2000 and 2002 were to Ruth Ann Brauser for web design and maintenance. Also in 2001 TCB paid Darlene Nelson $400.00 as Contract services to rebuild their database when it crashed.
Note 5
Most of this expense was for purchasing a list of tarot readers and printing the brochures for the mass mailing.
Note 6
This represents a settlement with the telephone company for accrued expenses.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
The $1,000.00 from the ATA during the first quarter of 2002 represents a refund of an overpayment. This came about because the Tarot Certification Board and American Tarot Association Boards agrees TCB would reimburse ATA $5,000.00 for startup expenses. Of this amount $3,000.00 was for reimbursement of accreditation fees which the TCB Board later voted not to pay. At that time, the TCB had already paid the ATA $3,000.00 and requested a $1,000.00 refund. The ATA complied with this request. The total amount paid to the ATA for startup expenses less the refund was $2,000.00 in accordance with the former TCB Board’s wishes and this was agreeable to the ATA Board.
In discussing these financial affairs with several people including Dianne Fullerton’s daughter Denise, Grandmasters Rita Baker and Allan Curthoys, all of whom were closely associated with the ATA and TCB from the beginning, the TCBA Board is convinced the $3,000.00 paid by the ATA for accreditation fees was paid by Allan Curthoys, Dianne Fullerton and John Gilbert on behalf of the ATA for the benefit of the TCB. We were able to verify this through conversations with Bill Bennett the founder and former president of the accreditation board. Additionally, the Board has learned from Monica Salyer, the former ATA Treasurer who audited the ATA Books after John Gilbert resigned, that the $1,000.00 reimbursement from the ATA to the TCB came from an “anonymous donor.” Monica also stated that John Gilbert personally funded the ATA conferences to the tune of about $2000.00 per conference but that otherwise the ATA financial records were in good order when he resigned as their Executive Director and Treasurer.
The TCBA Board regrets it has taken so long to conclude an audit of the former TCB books and apologizes for this delay.
