Certified Professional Tarot Reader Examination (CPTR)

 

 

  • Demonstrate mastery of all the requirements for CATR and CTR

     

  • Write your own personal code of ethics and explain how you use this code in working with clients

     

  • Explain to the satisfaction of your examiner how you handle troublesome or impossible questions and situations

     

  • Rephrase at least three "improper" or "impossible" questions and answer them to the satisfaction of your examiner

     

  • Demonstrate competency using tarot spreads comprising up to twelve cards

     

  • Explain how you intend to teach, mentor or assist prospective tarot readers in how to read tarot cards

     

  • Perform a minimum of twenty-five professional quality tarot readings to the satisfaction of your examiner

     

  • Your examiner will advise both you and us when you pass the examination. At that time we'll need:
    • Your name as you'd like it to appear on your certificate
    • Your complete mailing address

    • The Tarot Certification Board will invoice you for your lifetime certification fee as a CPTR which is a one-time payment of $150.00 less any payments already made for the rank of CATR and CTR. You may use the following link to make your payment now:

    INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES
    1. Be prepared to defend your personal code of ethics to your examiner
    2. Be prepared to answer no less than five questions posed to you by your examiner
    3. Be prepared to use the tarot spreads of your choice using up to a dozen cards
    4. Be prepared to explain how changing the sequence of cards in the spread changes the reading and the meaning of the cards
    5. Be prepared to explain how exchanging some of the cards in your spread changes your answer to the posed question
    6. Your examiner may ask you to replace certain cards in your spreads with other cards to test your knowledge of the cards
    7. Your examiner may ask you to move certain cards from one position to another to test your knowledge of the spreads you use
    8. Please remember your examiner is a volunteer who wants you to pass your examination
    9. Please remember your examiner is a volunteer who wants to maintain a high standard for certification

     

     

    INSTRUCTIONS TO EXAMINERS
    1. Read our current Testing Policies and Procedures
    2. Please verify the candidate has mastered all the skills required for CTR and qualifies for that rank
    3. Please be certain the candidate has a defendable code of ethics
    4. Please be certain the candidate understands large tarot spreads before asking them to do any readings
    5. Please substitute other cards in their spreads to convince yourself the candidate does know the meanings of the cards and the spread being used
    6. Please remember candidates may use the decks and spreads of their choice
    7. Please remember candidates may use the key words, phrases or concepts of their choice for each of the tarot cards
    8. Please remember candidates may be nervous and that shouldn't count against them
    9. Please remember your duty is to satisfy yourself the candidate meets the requirements for certification
    10. Please remember we really appreciate you for volunteering to do this for us
